p50RhoGAP is a regulatory protein that accelerates the GTP hydrolysis of Rho family GTPases, effectively turning off their signaling activity to maintain cytoskeletal balance. It plays a key role in controlling cell shape, motility, and adhesion by modulating actin filament organization.
Wild-type human p50RhoGAP protein is produced in a bacterial expression system.
Protein purity is assessed by scanning densitometry of Coomassie Blue-stained protein on a 4-20% polyacrylamide gel. Purity was determined to be ≥70% pure.
The biological activity of GAP01 is evaluated by the ability of the protein to catalyze GTP hydrolysis by RhoA and Rac1 proteins. Under the experimental conditions used (see datasheet), RhoA GTPase activity is enhanced ≥20 fold in the presence of RhoGAP.
