Ras superfamily GEF assays
Ras superfamily proteins are key players in cancer therapeutics. GEFs activate them by catalyzing GDP-GTP exchange. Many GEFs are localized to specific tissues and thus form the basis of a paradigm to target the mechanism of GTPase activation with more precision. Cyto offers two GEF assays, both of which are fluorescent. One measures the decrease in fluorescence of labeled GDP molecules upon their displacement from the target GTPase. The second monitors an increase in fluorescence upon exchange of fluorescent GTP into the target GTPase.
