Service overview: Kinesin ATPases
Kinesins are a family of molecular motors that utilize the energy of ATP hydrolysis to transport cargo such as chromosomes and vesicles along microtubule tracks. The central role of kinesins in cell division makes them an excellent target for anti-mitotics. Cytoskeleton’s screening service employs a colorimetric end-point assay and an absorbance-based kinetic assay to measure microtubule-stimulated kinesin ATPase activity. Incorporating rigorously validated, pre-formed microtubules, the service delivers highly reproducible, quantitative data suitable for all stages of drug development.
