Myosin ATPase Screening Services

At Cyto, we don’t just study motor proteins—we helped pioneer the field. With 30+ years of innovation in cytoskeletal tools, our contract research sets the gold standard for discovering and profiling myosin inhibitors. Let’s connect.

Myosin assay service overview

Cyto provides custom myosin assay services to support disease-focused research, including cardiomyopathies and hypercontractile disorders. Our platform emphasizes precision and biological relevance by addressing the fundamentals-utilizing highly purified, functionally active proteins. Standard F-actin stimulated myosin ATPase assays are complemented by advanced configurations such as calcium-activated thin-filament/myosin ATPase assays, providing enhanced physiological insight and flexibility for your research needs.

Case Study

Mechanistic profiling of myosin

The objective

The client sought mechanistic insight into a panel of optimized lead compounds, specifically to determine their modulatory effects on the isolated myosin–thin filament complex. The objective was to implement a recurring screening workflow, executing a mechanistically informative assay every 4 weeks with a 1-week turnaround, to support structure-activity relationship (SAR) refinement and facilitate rapid decision-making.

The result

Leveraging Cyto’s deep expertise in myosin-targeted compound screening and rapid access to high-quality reagents, the project maintained strict adherence to a 1-week turnaround schedule. This high-frequency cadence enabled the client to iteratively assess the efficacy of the lead compound, interrogate actomyosin regulatory mechanisms in detail, and accelerate SAR cycles, thereby enabling data-driven prioritization of candidates with finely tuned modulation profiles and therapeutic potential.
