RAPGEF5 is a potent activator of Rap proteins and mutations in RAPGEF5 have been linked to both neurological disorders and congenital heart disease.
The RAPGEF5 protein (amino acids 56-580) has been produced in a bacterial expression system. It contains a GST-tag at its amino terminus for purification purposes. The fusion protein has a molecular weight of 88 kDa, it is supplied as a lyophilized protein.
Protein purity is assessed using scanning densitometry of Coomassie-stained SDS-PAGE gels. CS-GE09 is ≥75% pure
The biological activity of CS-GE09 is determined using an in vitro GEF assay. Under the experimental conditions (see datasheet), CS-GE09 increases Rap1B GTP exchange by ≥5 fold over intrinsic Rap1B exchange.
Cat. #CS-GE09
