SPY700-tubulin is a high-performance, cell-permeable fluorescent probe designed for selective visualization of microtubules in living cells. By combining the microtubule-binding properties of docetaxel with the bright, far-red SPY fluorophore, SPY700-tubulin enables high-contrast imaging of microtubule networks with exceptional specificity and minimal background fluorescence. Its cell-permeable design allows direct labeling of endogenous microtubules without the need for genetic manipulation, providing a convenient and powerful tool for investigating microtubule organization and dynamics in live cells.
Key features
The biological activity of CY-SC603 is assessed by the ability of the probe to efficiently label microtubules in live cell HeLa culture. After an optional wash step, cell staining is visible for several hours.
SPY700-tubulin is a fluorescent taxane-based probe that binds specifically to microtubules. As high concentrations of taxane derivatives may affect microtubule dynamics, care should be taken to minimize potential effects on normal cellular function. For long-term live-cell imaging (>12 h), a dilution of at least 1:1,000 from the probe stock solution is recommended. Optimal staining concentrations should be determined empirically for each cell type and experimental application.
