Cytoskeleton offers two Acetyl-Lysine Affinity beads: AAC02-beads and AAC03-beads. Both contain unique mouse anti-acetyl-lysine antibodies covalently linked to protein G beads and enrich a broad range of acetylated proteins. Used together, they provide an even more comprehensive enrichment profile.
While their specificities overlap, each has unique strengths—AAC02-beads may outperform AAC03-beads for specific targets. For a new protein of interest, test both separately to determine which gives the best results (see datasheet for examples).
AAC02-beads are an affinity reagent comprising a high affinity/specificity pan-acetyl-lysine antibody AAC02 covalently linked to agarose beads.
Key characteristics
The biological activity of AAC02-beads is demonstrated by the reagent’s ability to IP a broad range of acetylated proteins from cell and tissue lysates (50 µl bead slurry to mg input lysate). Specificity is demonstrated by the fact that the IP acetylation profile increases by ≥10 fold in a lysate treated with the deacetylase inhibitors trichostatin A (TSA) and nicotinamide.
