Fascin-1 is an actin-bundling protein that helps form cellular protrusions such as filopodia, which are essential for cell migration, adhesion, and signaling. In neurons, it supports the growth and guidance of axons and dendritic spines, contributing to proper neural development and connectivity.
The wild-type human fascin1 protein (Uniprot ID: Q16658) has been produced in a bacterial expression system. The recombinant protein contains no tag. The molecular weight of fascin1 is approximately 54 kDa
CS-FSC01 is supplied as a lyophilized powder.
Protein purity is assessed using scanning densitometry of Coomassie-stained SDS-PAGE gels. CS-FSC01 is ≥95% pure
The biological activity of fascin1 is evaluated by its capacity to bundle actin filaments, assessed through fluorescence microscopy of labeled actin. Under the test conditions (see datasheet), fascin1 bundled ≤ 90% of the actin filaments.
Cat. #CS-FSC01
