SPY™555-FastAct™ probe comprises SPY™555 dye conjugated to a chemically modified version of the actin binding natural product jasplakinolide. This creates a probe that has on on/off rate that does not interfere with rapid actin dynamics. Its fluorogenic nature allows the labelling of F-actin in live cells with high specificity and low background.

The biological activity of CY-SC205 is assessed by the ability of the probe to efficiently label actin filaments and rapid actin dynamics in live HeLa cell culture. Wash steps are not recommended for visualization of fast actin dynamics. If performing longer term time-laps readings it is recommended to keep the probe in the image media with no wash step.
