SPY™488-FastAct™ probe comprises SPY™488 dye conjugated to a chemically modified version of the actin binding natural product jasplakinolide. This creates a probe that has on on/off rate that does not interfere with rapid actin dynamics. Its fluorogenic nature allows the labelling of F-actin in live cells with high specificity and low background.

The biological activity of CY-SC105 is assessed by the ability of the probe to efficiently label actin dynamics in live HeLa cell culture. A wash step is not recommended for fast actin dynamic visualization, cell staining is visible for several hours.
