Product Uses Include
Material
Protease Inhibitor Cocktail is supplied as a white lyophilized powder. The cocktail contains the following protease inhibitors, Pepstatin A, Leupeptin, Benzamidine, Na-p-tosyl-L-arginine methyl ester (TAME). At 1X final working concentration the inhibitors are at 1 µM, 1.5 µM, 1 mM and 0.4 mM respectively.
Mode of Action
pepstatin A Reversibly inhibits some aspartic proteases
Leupeptin Reversibly inhibits trypsin like serine and some cysteine proteases
Benzamidine Inhibits serine proteases
TAME Inhibits arginine proteases, a thrombin and trypsin inhibitor
Storage and Reconstitution
Lyophilized Protease Inhibitor Cocktail is stable at 4°C desiccated (<10% humidity) for 1 year.
Each tube of Protease Inhibitor Cocktail should be resuspended in 1ml of DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) to give a 100X strength stock. The reconstituted stock can be stored at 4°C for up to 6 months or at -70°C for up to 1 year.
